Stop & Fill Up at Keyser, WV - 09 July 2019
Author: DTWilson

Most of the Morning we kept hearing the BF dispatching talking about having an eastbound work train coming from Grafton having to stop at Keyser, WV for fuel. 20 miles out of Cumberland and the are stopping for fuel in Keyser.???  Unusual...

While in Westernport picking up the 7 year old, we hear W057-09 call the signal at the Beryl, WV woodyard with "Locomotive" LMIX518.... what the heck is it..... so we head to Keymont, WV to set up a shot.

1) The answer to our questions... it's a Loram "RailVac"...... W057-09 eastbound at Keymont, WV.

2) and 3) W057-09 taking on fuel from the MofW Department's diesel tank in the East Yard at Keyser, WV.

Rare catch. That is good for sucking up ballast off of bridges and out of tunnels. There area a couple of good videos on YouTube if you search for Rail VAC.
