Ok, I don't want to start the same old stuff where people start making fun of it or cause issues, but there was a post on facebook that was posted in regards to that CSX will be painting 12+ Heritage Units.

So I thought I would ask here and not speculations on facebook of, Is This True?

I hop so but I am not holding my breath. We will just have to wait and see.

If its true then #cxprideinservice is.  

Im hoping they bring back the Chessie in a modern day twist.

You could do a 60s B&O blue in about 20 minutes in the paint shop.

Only one acception for me if they did a style like UP did of fantasy, would be what Lionel Model Trains made for their model of a CSX Western Maryland Heritage.

Basically, I'll believe any such thing when I see it, or CSX announces they're doing it.

David, you are correct. That's why I asked here instead of facebook.

Is next year their 40th anniversary as it officially starting as a corporation, although the actual mergers weren't until 1986 I beleive?     

They have been more receptive to public image recently with some events, help in moving steam engines, and painting of units for museums and themselves, but earnings were below expectations.    Time will tell.

CSX potential merger (Chessie System + SCL Industries) was announced in Nov 1978, approved by ICC in Sept 1980, and the merger occurred Nov 1, 1980.
So yes, CSX turns 40 next year.  Hertiage units would be a nice aniversary present, and if they wanted to CSX could probably come up with 40 hertiage schemes...
