Saturday - 10 August 2019

1) We start our day catching Q135-09 arriving in Cumberland, MD to make a set off from their train. 

2) At the other end of town we catch the Q349-10 depart Cumberland near the Valley Street crossing.

3) A set of SD40's ( -2 and -3)  for helpers on the rear of Q349-10

1) New arrival at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. The owner of the Observation is storing it at the WMSR Shop in Ridgeley, WV

2) Out of the Gate..... The day's WMSR excursion departs the yard at Ridgeley, WV. Next stop the Cumberland, MD station to load their passengers.

3) W086, Loaded herzog Ballast Train departs westboun off the Freight Track at Cumberland.

1) E730-08 crossing Wills Creek on the Viaduct at Cumberland, MD. Once at Beall St, they will enter the Mountain Sub and head west to Grafton with 130 empty hoppers.

2) We catch up with E730-08 as we arrive back in Keyser, WV. The Emptyman is westbound just over the East Street crossing in town.

Sunday - 11 August 2019

1) We try our hand at catching the Appalachian Rail Excursions "Speeder" trip between Romney and Green Spring, WV on the South Branch Valley Railroad.

2) On the trestle over Rt. 28 in Springfield, WV.

3) We should have started our chase earlier... the lighting for the southbound trip wasn't the best but at Graces Chapel Rd. it wasn't too bad.

1) The leaders arriving at the Potomac Eagle Station at the end of their trip....

2) We head back to Green Spring to catch D720 working the SBVR.... but first something artsy with the SBVR Geeps.

1) While it appears that the D70-11 is on the level track, it is actually shoving up over a hill to the SBVR interchange yard at Green Spring, WV to set out 4 covered hoppers.

2) D720-11 returning to their train at Green Spring, WV after setting out cars for the South Branch Valley Railroad.

3) We get into Cumberland, MD to catch the N792-08 arrive in town with a loaded coal drag passing the Q349-11 near Valley Street crossing.

1) N739-08 passes a set of Yard Power as the coal drag arrives at the "safety Stop" in Cumberland, MD for a crew change.

2) Heading back home we catch E780-10 at 21st,. Bridge., MD. Thy would stop at Keyser, WV to reduce their car count to 130 empties for the trip to Grafton.

3) At Keyser, WV. The E780-10 (Right) is reducing their car count by set off 65 cars into the west yard. The B772-11 (left) has just arrived from Grafton with 67 cars that Q316 will pick up in the morning and take on into Cumberland. B772 is a local that goes on duty at Keyser each day to move "Tonnage Reduction" cars from 316/317 from Keyser over the mountain to and from Grafton, WV.
