The NS had diesels appropriately equipped with PTC, cab signals, and that special stuff that Amtrak uses. Diesel on the point, all the way from Roanoke to Leaman Place Jct. They are assigned to Lancaster and work lots of local jobs on Amtrak Posted from iPhone Date: 08/22/19 13:20 Re: 611 at Strasburg and the Columbia Secondary Author: PRR1361 That certainly makes sense; they do have to use Amtrak trackage rights to reach several of their yards in the Lancaster area, so it stands to reason that they have ACSES-equipped a couple of locos. They are likely the only ones on the entire system, however. Amtrak has overlaid I-ETMS on portions of the Baltimore-Newark NEC that NS traverses, so that they do not have to dual-equip their main line locos.
