Eastern Railroad Discussion > Lake State Railway On The Saginaw SubDate: 08/25/19 09:15 Lake State Railway On The Saginaw Sub Author: Ohiorailfan Yesterday I headed up to Michigan for the day to finally shoot the Lake State Railway on the CSX Saginaw Sub. Earlier this year CSX leased this section of track to the LSRC. It runs from Saginaw to Wixom/Novi. The popular train and really the only train on the line is the Z127. It starts at Wixom and runs up to Flint and back. Yesterday the power was GP40-3 #805 and SD40-2 #6305. The train was called later than normal allowing for a beautiful chase back south. Track speed is 40mph and they still use the Ex CSX road channel. Also included in this post is a shot of the Ann Arbor in the morning as they left Ann Arbor and headed back south and the evening Adrian and Blissfield Dinner Train with Ex NHN GP9 leading. Enjoy!

Mark Date: 08/25/19 18:31 Re: Lake State Railway On The Saignaw Sub Author: jgilmore Cool shots, thanks for sharing. Hard to believe this line once hosted 20 or more freights a day back in the 70s and into the 80s, and lots more than currently into the 90s...
