Eastern Railroad Discussion > The Colorful GP9's Of The Youngstown SoutheasternDate: 09/19/19 13:49 The Colorful GP9's Of The Youngstown Southeastern Author: Ohiorailfan This morning I took a little 3 hour stroll to a small town about an hour south of Youngstown called Negley. Negley is the very south end of the Youngstown and Eastern. This railroad is extemely busy with trash cars, so much that a seperate job works out of the town. The job switches the landfill and heads to and from Signal, Ohio with loads and empties which eventually get transfered to NS and CSX in Youngstown. The power for the past month has been Ex New Castle Industry GP9 #77(Ex BAR #77) and Ex Tishimingo GP9 #222(Ex ICG). The following shots were taken between Negley and Signal this morning as they made 2 trips to recieve cars. The first move was made with the 222. Enjoy!

I don't think I've ever seen a unit with four actual number board in place on one end. UP back in the day was bad enough with not only the two number boards but also a number painted (sticker) on each side of the nose.
