Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS KC-Moberly District DetoursDate: 10/07/19 06:49 NS KC-Moberly District Detours Author: billyjacobs19 Due to the bridge washout on the NS KC-Moberly District, which routes are the triple crown trains (NS 255/256) taking? Are they running via the UP Jefferson City Sub, the KCS Mexico Sub, or the BNSF Brookfield Sub? All those lines could be a possibility. Would like to catch them if they’re running through St Louis. Thanks.

I'd personally like to thank NS for adding more friggin' truck trailers to the already jammed Interstate corridor that is I-70 between St. Louis and KC. BTW Roanoke. Did anyone tell you they're gonna start replacing the Missouri River bridge just west of Columbia, MO. soon? Better get your bridge done first and put those trailers back on the rails where they belong. ×

And while MO has said they will be building a new bridge across the Missouri River, don't hold your breath! They are still having hearings/discussions about where it will go since the old bridge will remain open during construction. At the very least, construction on the east side of the bridge (the bluffs) will require significant rock removal (blasting) and road relocation. (Editorial comment: MODOT does as good as a job as they can given the dismal funding Misery has available for transportation.) I fully expect NS will have the bridge across the Grand River done well before Daylight Savings Time ends! Of course, man proposes, Mother Nature disposes!

111, 112, and 297 are temporarily abolished. 148 and 29M are originating at Decatur. They are still terminating at Bellevue, OH and Ft. Wayne, IN respectively. 285 and 239 are originating / terminating at St. Louis. Both are still to and from Jacksonville, FL FEC and Georgetown, KY respectively. 120, 181, 223, 224, 20T, 21T are detouring via UP or BNSF (possibly even KCS) between Kansas City and St. Louis. Andrew Date: 10/08/19 10:55 Re: NS KC-Moberly District Detours Author: billyjacobs19 Is there a crossover from the NS to KCS in Mexico, Missouri? If so, that would seem to be the way to go.

Putting them on Interstate 70 is the only option. Date: 10/08/19 17:03 Re: NS KC-Moberly District Detours Author: Spoony81 DevalDragon Wrote:
