Another Wheeling Rio Grande treat today
Author: EL833

I had missed a "sitting duck" W&LE train at Summit St in Akron, Ohio yesterday. I knew it had a neat power set with a pair of 7000 series bookends to tunnel motor 5413 but I had other commitments. While out today I caught some scanner chatter about the ABC job (Akron Barberton Cluster RR) having the 7012. A quick check at Summit St confirmed that as the tunnel motor was now "in the lead" of the stone train. The 7012 was already on it's way back to this train, so after a few quick shots of the 5413 clean nosed the 7012 showed up, tied on, allowing some photos of the entire consist that I had missed yesterday.

Yes Rod, it's always a treat to catch one or both of the former Grande tunnel motors. They are indeed true heritage units- and as you see still looking great.
