Southern heritage and a W&LE 3 of a kind
Author: EL833

With some nice blue skies in the area today I ventured out for a bit. The Southern side of Norfolk Southern was represented on 26E at Rootstown, Ohio. A Wheeling and Lake Erie empty stone train was looking sharp sitting in Akron with three 7000 series SD's on it. The ABC job (Akron Barberton Cluster RR) came off the connection with a rather dull gray dip unit nose into the train and shoved east to the Wheeling's Brittain yard.

Neat how the EMP containers pick up the Southern colours on the first photo. Very nice.

This truly was a great weather day. The Southern heritage unit makes that location come alive. As for the W&LE stone train, I caught it a few miles west of there from the Wilbeth Road walk bridge..

I liked that as well, a nice bonus. I went with the "in your face" head on view to show the "Look ahead, look south" logo since it seems to be slowly coming off.
