Eastern Railroad Discussion > DRRV's Toys for Tots trainDate: 12/09/19 07:54 DRRV's Toys for Tots train Author: Pattenburg DRRV's "Toys for Tots train ran up the former CNJ High Bridge Branch into Flanders (NJ) for its first scheduled stop on what was a very cold December 8th morning with the temperature hovering around seventeen degrees. DRRV 1823 was the power leading into Flanders while NS 5304 led the train to stops in Ledgewood, Kenvil and Succasunna.
Photo 1: Finds the "Collection Special" running a little late past its 9 AM arrival time as it arrives at the collection point which was adjacent to the Flanders Fire Company # 1 fire house. Photo 2: With all the collected toys stowed away in the DRRV's boxcars, the train is seen leaving Flanders for its next stop which was Ledgewood. Those two red buildings off to the right I was told that they were once Flanders CNJ's depot. Date: 12/09/19 08:00 Re: DRRV's Toys for Tots train Author: boejoe Nice shots. Morris County just finished tree clearing and replacing 7,000 ties on the High Bridge Branch. Part of a state grant to upgrade the line. CV the civil E in NJ Edited 1 time(s).
