Eastern Railroad Discussion > Q316 at Keyser, WV - 02 February 2020

Leaving work last Sunday, caught scanner traffic of Q316-31 calling the "Woodyard" signal. I headed up to Keymont / RR known as "Halfway" to catch 316 coming east. As luck would have it B772-02 was departing Keyser heading west for Grafton, WV.with the previous night's "tonnage reduction" traffic from Q317. 

1) Q316-31 eastbound (left) passing B772-02 westbound (right) at Keymont, WV (Halfway between Keyser and Piedmont) 

2) At Keyser, the crew from Q316 set out the lead two units for return to Grafton. 316 passing Mt. Storm helper power and N999 power in the east yard at Keyser.

3) Q316 pulls alongside the 93 car pickup in the east yard at Keyser. This would be a rear pickup requiring the Conductor to clear the derail and open the east end yard switch to allow the 316 to back their entire train in for the double.

Agree with everyone about photo #2.  Nice line up. Those low joints on the yard tracks at Keyser look like they could make you seasick !
