My First ST70AH
Author: RiverLineProductions

Today CSX Q262-20 came south on the River Subdivision with CSX ST70AH #8903 leading the way. These units have finally escaped captivity in Florida and have been running systemwide for about a month now. The cloudless February weather made a great scene for my first catch of one of these sharp-looking units at Iona Island, NY (River Sub QR-42).

Great shot.  Just enough of the Hudson and Bear Mountain Bridge so that location is easily recognized.

I saw that same unit on what looks to be the same train in Cleveland, Ohio a few nights ago.  I was thinking the same thing that the ST70AH's have escaped Florida.

Great pic! Didn’t know CSX went with ST as a model designation. Much better imho.

S as in SD.....T as in Tier IV; 70...since it's still 70 series according to EMD......A for AC traction...H for heavy....Meaning it's got extra ballast to make it heavier and thus have more tractive effort.
