Eastern Railroad Discussion > Fentress Virginia questionDate: 02/26/20 21:33 Fentress Virginia question Author: Fireman424 I recently purchased a Southern railway station sign from Fentress Virginia. I was wondering if anyone had any photos of a train passing it. I like to get photos of trains passing the signs I purchase. i will gladly pay for a slide or a download.
Appreciate any help, Randy Allard Date: 02/27/20 07:24 Re: Fentress Virginia question Author: bigsavage If this is the Fentress that is part of Virginia Beach, it's a very obscure x-NS (original Norfolk Southern) branch that was very weedy and overgrown in 1979 when I was briefly in that area, the line further west did connect to the car ferry at Little Creek. Did you get a street location where this sign was located? Highways and development have really changed this area over the last 50 years.
I would suggest contacting the Southern Railway Historical Society. Date: 02/27/20 09:24 Re: Fentress Virginia question Author: engineerinvirginia Actually Fentress is in what is now Chesapeake which formerly was part of South Norfolk and the former Norfolk County.
