I saw a headline in WFMZ today confirming this. I think it is a two week shutdown to clean and disinfect the mine.

My initial thought was how do you disinfect a coal mine?

Two workers tested positive for Covid 19 and Bailey is indeed shutdown. But Enlow. (Bailey/Enlow) is still loading at this point.  Bailey mines mostly under Washington County and Enlow mostly under Greene county. There is another portal (Harvey) and I believe it is operational.

Probably wait it out. Get the high touch surfaces in the dry changing room and elsewhere above ground, wait a few days underground. Rock surfaces shouldn’t retrain viable virus for very long.

Underground, I’d worry more about my fellow miners exhaling, and the air handling system more than anything else.

They can use ultraviolet light or spray it with alcohol. They are starting to clean airplanes with ultraviolet light just like hospitals clean their operating rooms.  May be a whole new business there for employment.  Every airplane may require a cleaning between each and every flight,
