Good to see quite old cars delivering new steel during this worldwide pause.

I caught it on Youtube VRF Ashland and an hour later zipped over to Brooke to look for it. Glad I caught it. I have some others vidoes here in the Eastern Railroad area and Passenger area. Plus at: https://www.youtube.com/user/rustyr0824/featured If you are interested. Rusty Stafford VA Date: 04/04/20 08:07 Re: CSX W011 at Brooke VA Author: sums007 Good video! Is left-hand running the norm on the RF&P?
Date: 04/04/20 09:47 Re: CSX W011 at Brooke VA Author: rustyr0824 Really there is no North or South track.
Whatever track is available they run on. The station platform is on Track 2. At the end of the video I'm looking north. The train is on Track 3. There is no Track 1 up here, maybe down at Acca or originally up North at Potomac Yards there was. Most VRE platforms are on the Track 2 side. Some stations though like Woodbridge VA have platforms on both sides. Pretty much for CSX on the RF&P they run either track in either direction. I have been hunting down, with not much success as to what will Really happen in the next 10 to 20 years. From 10 years ago the "shovel ready" third track from Arkendale to past Quantico has yet to be completed. Now we have the approved Southeast rail project. Then we have the VA Gov announcement of a 3.5 bil deal with CSX. And on top of that we have VRE's long term plans. I guess I won't really know what's happening until after it happens. But it would just be nice to get a solid schedule instead of still possibly pie in the sky ideas. :-) |
