The weather today in Da Calumet Region was just about as perfect as it can get, sunny and near 70 degrees  It was a great day to go trackside, even for a brief time.  A quick trip to Dyer was in order to check out the Canadian National's ex EJ&E.  We didn't have to wait long as a CN eastbound approached our position just by the Route 30 overpass.  A three unit consist, led by the 8884 with two SD75s following rolled past us.  It was nice enough to make our day, which probably isn't saying much anymore.  Hope you enjoy, and stay safe!

I always thought it was an old elevator of some kind, but someone who knows more than me says it was an old concrete block maker.  It sat derelict for over twenty years, until the present owners, a granite and marble business, restored it.
