Is Your RR Still Precision During Corona?
Author: Tominde

How has Covid impacted the scheduling/operations of freight railroads?  Have not heard any accounts of trains parked for lack of crews.  I live within a 5 iron of the CSX Philly Sub  --halfway Baltimore-Philly-- I have not noticed much impact.  Things generally seem in there "typical" time slot.

Here in NJ 2 links from the NS Lehigh line in very non scientific just observation sort of way. Train counts seem typical but trains seem shorter. Trains that were 100-120 platforms now 80-100. MOW work has been brisk with crossings replaced, bridge work and ballast resurfacing.

Good for you during this downturn.  You have something to interact with.

Here in South Central Texas, traffic is way down. And we're likely gonna loose our beer train from the folks that brew Corona (thats NOT a pun) about 30 miles from Eagle Pass.  The beer trains are bottles from owens corning going south and suds coming not, all in boxcars, many of them with BKTY reporting marks.
And, due to a dry fall, the wildflowers aren't good either. And mostly grey sky. UGH

I'm seeing fairly regular rail traffic with a lower car count. Less import steel slabs and all auto traffic is gone. PSR was already messing with everything but the virus hasn't gotten to the traffic around here, yet.

I live in Bowling Green Ohio on the CSX Toledo Branch Sub. We have Q630/Q631, Q132/Q131, Q230/Q231 and H719 and Q286. The only trains that still run are:

Q630 Avon-Ridgeway-Walbridge (mixed)
Q631 Walbridge-Ridgeway-Avon (mixed)
H719 Kenton-Dunbridge (local)

Cancelled:
Q132 Mexico City-Salem-Avon-Ridgeway-Walbridge-Detroit (stacks)
Q131 Detroit-Walbridge-Ridgeway-Avon-Salem-Mexico City (stacks)
Q230 Louisville-Pottersburg-Ridgeway-Walbridge (auto and parts)
Q231 WalbridgeRidgeway-Pottersburg-Louisville (auto and parts)

My terminal hasn't lost anyone but being near the end of a quarter we are in a lull between contracts...the previous ones having been fulfilled and the new ones not yet inked.

I live in Port Clinton, Ohio on the NS Chicago Line and everything seems to be normal here, just seen the usual trains.

Covid 19 no effect here.

Tominde, more cuts coming to your line tomorrow (besides all the auto traffic and locals already cut).

STILL precision?
Was there any?
Has there been any in the past 40ish years?

That makes my point.
