Earlier this year the Reading & Northern put into service their new bridge across the Lehigh River north of Jim Thorpe.  The new bridge allows for a direction connection between the railroad's Reading & Lehigh Divisions.  The R&N Flagship Fast Freight; the NRFF, makes a daily roundtrip from North Reading in Muhlenberg Township to Pittston, PA near Scranton using the new bridge.  Previously separate trains ran from Pittston and North Reading & interchanged cars in the yard at Jim Thorpe.  Now a single crew is able to make the roundtrip on a much faster schedule.  At the begining of May we chased the NRFF on its run from North Reading to Pittston, and were able to catch it with both the drone and Sony Cam at the new bridge.  Enjoy!

Great drone work.  Quite a lengthy train.  Glad to see so much freight business for the area.

Can someone comment on the commodities and destination customers for all the reefers and RBLs?

Great video TJ! I’m looking forward to hopefully riding across the new bridge on September 5th (provides the trip isn’t delayed again)!

One heck of a train.  I hope a lot of that wasn't storage cars.  Nice video work  Awful lot of squealing flanges.
