Erie tribute unit over the Cuyahoga River
Author: EL833

I found myself in Cleveland, Ohio yesterday (05-23-20) photographing a variety of subjects. Got wind of the NS "Erie" heritage unit leading an eastbound monster 14N. As was already set up at Shooters on the west bank of the Cuyahoga River waiting on a lake freighter I elected to work the NS 1068 in with American Steamship Company's John J Boland tied up on the other side of the lift bridge. The Erie remains my personal favorite since those were the rails (EL by my time) that passed through my hometown of Akron and got me interested big time in railroading.

Bring back the Erie!  Imagine this unit running all over old Erie rails!  Fun to dream!

If you grew up in Akron, what about the A. C. & Y.  I have the honor of being the last passenger to board thier Delphos bullet
mixed train.  But I also rode the Erie often.
