Is that walkway bridge a former RR ROW? If so, what's the history of that former line?

If that's a water moccasin, stay away, they are poisonous snakes and they do live in that area.  Be very careful.

Hi Milwaukee
No that bridge is just a walkway bridge about wide enough for golf carts made from side bbeams from a small rail bridge
so people copuld walk across over the tracks to the falls and other parts of the park

This is a nonvenomous watersnake. The pattern is very reduced so I can't tell which species, but the absence of vertical pupils mark this as nonvenomous. Still becareful for cottonmouths though!

No cottonmouth habitat in West Virginia, but the State DNR is putting up signs like this in selected state parks where timber rattlers are numerous.

Tom, thanks for the pictures and directions to get to this spot. Anyone know how much traffic travels this track ?
Thanks,
John
