My friend Sam ran into this snake ,probably water snake instead of copperhead at Valley Falls and filmed it while we were railfanning and checking the falls Tom Boylan Date: 07/05/20 12:16 Re: Valley Falls State Park Fairmont Sub Out of Grafton W Va Author: Milwaukee Is that walkway bridge a former RR ROW? If so, what's the history of that former line?

Be very careful. John in White Marsh, Maryland Date: 07/05/20 15:29 Re: Valley Falls State Park Fairmont Sub Out of Grafton W Va Author: train544 Hi Milwaukee
No that bridge is just a walkway bridge about wide enough for golf carts made from side bbeams from a small rail bridge so people copuld walk across over the tracks to the falls and other parts of the park Tom Boylan Date: 07/05/20 15:58 Re: Valley Falls State Park Fairmont Sub Out of Grafton W Va Author: perklocal Cool location ! Never seen a photo from that spot. Nice healthy looking water snake by the way.

The pattern is very reduced so I can't tell which species, but the absence of vertical pupils mark this as nonvenomous. Still becareful for cottonmouths though!
