Eastern Railroad Discussion > Diesels In The AM, Juice In The PMDate: 07/05/20 15:40 Diesels In The AM, Juice In The PM Author: overniteman The possibilities are endless when the sun shines. Started the day in Bound Brook for some NS action.
First along was NS 22V behind D9 9629. Date: 07/05/20 15:45 Re: Diesels In The AM, Juice In The PM Author: overniteman There were a few CSX moves, but they were coming out of the sun, so we passed on them.
Here's NS 18N now back running after the auto plants started cranking again. The 9642 has hand painted number boards. Date: 07/05/20 15:48 Re: Diesels In The AM, Juice In The PM Author: overniteman This NJT dual mode ALP-45DP (4528) is running on the Raritan Valley line under diesel power, but can run NJT's electrified lines as well.
Bound Brook, New Jersey Date: 07/05/20 15:52 Re: Diesels In The AM, Juice In The PM Author: overniteman After some BBQ for lunch, it was time to head over to the NEC for some speed.
In no particular order, here's a few from Metuchen, New Jersey. A Westbound Arrow III makes a station stop. Next stop Edison...... Those ALP45DPs sure get around the system. You could see them running between Trenton and NYP while another minute, one can be running from Hoboken to Suffern. The Arrow III shot at Metuchen really caught my attention. What used to run on NEC NJT trains a lot in the 80s, 90s, and early to mid 2000s has become mainly a thing of the past with the Arrow IIIs. In three years, they are going to be retired and should have been a little while ago. Enjoy them while they are around.
