CSX Q410 thru Hillsborough (NJ)
Author: Pattenburg

The last few weeks have found me going on a quest to photograph some of the CP heritage units that have been showing up on CSX's 410 in a trailing position. Unfortunately by the time they passed through central NJ it was either at night or early morning. On Saturday I headed down towards Hillsborough (NJ) to check out the site of a 1969 Reading derailment. Pulling in near the tracks I spotted a very slow moving CSX freight coming to a stop. With it stopped for reasons unknown to me, I hurried over to the Route 206 Bypass to get these shots. However the irony of the moment was not lost on me. I finally got a chance to photograph 410 in real nice sunlight and its motive power and DPU was all CSX. Oh well some days you win and other days comes up short!

The 206 bypass should make CSX train chasing a lot easier in that area.
