Eastern Railroad Discussion > Bloomsburg, PADate: 08/01/20 21:25 Bloomsburg, PA Author: SantaFeRuss What rail line runs north and south through Bloomsburg, PA? My son and I think it may have been the Delaware and Hudson/Canadian Pacific at one time. The rail looks to be 100 pounds per yard . Any help is appreciated.
SantaFeRuss Date: 08/01/20 21:48 Re: Bloomsburg, PA Author: RuleG Originally, the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western. Now, the North Shore Railroad, based out of Northumberland, PA.
https://www.nshr.com/nshr I'm pretty sure this would have been a Conrail line until sold to the North Shore. Date: 08/02/20 05:10 Re: Bloomsburg, PA Author: pal77 NS former DH Sunbury line is across the river from Bloom.
Posted from iPhone Date: 08/02/20 06:38 Re: Bloomsburg, PA Author: dh1205 RuleG and Pal77 are both correct. The line that goes through Bloomsburg is the North Shore. It was DL&W, EL and Conrail. The North Shore took over operations in 1984. The line used to go from Scranton south to Northumberland, but Conrail removed the line north of the Berwick nuke pant. The line across the river is Norfolk Southern. It was originally the PRR then PC. The D&H got it when Conrail was formed. Us locals still refer to it as the D&H.
