A morning on the OhiRail
Author: EL833

OhiRail, now a G&W property, doesn't run daily as it's business is generally just car storage these days. On Monday the 10th the MV (Mahoning Valley) crew taxied in from Youngstown to make a run up to the NS interchange in Bayard, Ohio to pull some cars. They went light power, a former NS high hood GP38-2 that's orientated LH front, from Minerva to Bayard and returned with approx 50 cars. A delay was encountered when a fallen tree was discovered on the cars to be pulled. Once the chainsaw did it's work the move resumed.

Thanks for the update.

At least there's some "business" again, I recall not too long ago finding the OHIRail Yard and shop area devoid of everything other than rails. In the past they've (OHIRail) stored cars as far south as Amsterdam and Bergholz. One time I even noted two locomotives (diesel) at Amsterdam.
