Eastern Railroad Discussion > Anyone else notice it's getting dark out earlier?Date: 09/06/20 20:20 Anyone else notice it's getting dark out earlier? Author: tq-07fan I don't know about anyone else but something about the days getting longer, then getting shorter fascinates me, even though it happens every year. You know it's going to happen but it is so gradual that sometimes you just don't realize how much sunrise or sunset has changed. Tonight I noticed. I went up to Middletown Ohio after work upon hearing NS 376 leaving Sharonville on the scanner, which I later caught going into Mid-Reed Yard. I ended up seeing NS L10 leave Mid-Reed Yard and NS 179 come into to Middletown to also work Mid-Reed Yard, leaving their train on the main since they only had cars to set off. I ended up back at Yankee Rd right when the power was returning to the train so I found something to put the camera and took some twilight shots even though it was only 8:24 pm.
