Conrail Shared Assets Lehigh Line meet
Author: OCtrainguy

On the morning of July 25th, a much hoped for CSX empty oil train made its way east on the Conrail Shared Assets Lehigh Line with a BNSF SD75I leading another BNSF engine. A group of railfans was in Piscataway, NJ shooting the breeze as we awaited the train's approach.  As the CSX train sounded its horn, we heard another horn respond. And no, it wasn't an echo. It was a westbound train.  Shortly after the head end of the CSX train passed, NS intermodal train 21M flew by.   When the second track was put back in between CP Bound Brook and CP Potter (Edison), this was the reason why, to keep the trains moving.  Hope you enjoy!

That's quite sweet.  I would have been excited to see that BNSF unit!

Yeah, with foreign power so rare on NS in the Shared Assets area, these CSX oil/ethanol trains with foreign power are a welcome site!

Nice whistles, especially that NS loco.
