Thanks, Bob Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/23/20 14:09 by robj. Date: 10/23/20 15:41 Re: Lansing Michigan rail traffic.???? Author: toledopatch Not much. Q326/Q327, a road local, and these days that's about it, because all the West Olive coal seems to come up from Chicago.
Supposedly CSX plans to route some more trains via GRR but to my knowledge it hasn't happened yet. Date: 10/23/20 19:13 Re: Lansing Michigan rail traffic.???? Author: CO5232 Q326/327 are Grand Rapids-Chicago Barr yard trains. However CSX recently added two new trains between GR and Detroit Rougemere: D706 eastbound MWF and D705 westbound TTS. These seem to be pretty big trains and handle large setouts and pickups at Lansing's Ensel yard. Theoretically they are daytime trains but HOS issues tend to upset this.
Ensel is also the base for two locals. D707 works west overnight to GR and D708 works east to Howell in the afternoon. D708's major work is big blocks of interchange off D705/706 to the Great Lakes Central at their Ann Pere crossing east of Howell. There are also occasional grain trains out of Toledo to elevators at Grand Ledge and Williamston. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/23/20 19:43 by CO5232. I had forgotten that Q326/Q327 no longer went east of Grand Rapids. The elevators, though, are both east of Lansing and their trains arrive/depart from/to the east, which is why I didn't mention the grain trains. The elevator at Grand Ledge is certainly west of Lansing. Date: 10/24/20 06:36 Re: Lansing Michigan rail traffic.???? Author: toledopatch DirtyShirt Wrote:

Jan. 23, 2011 was the last day for both. Date: 10/25/20 18:12 Re: Lansing Michigan rail traffic.????
