10/24/20 14:59 45 degrees at CN Charlotte, Michigan as CN 5797 and CN 2686 power Train 396, with 4 CN heritage units in tow, CN 3069, CN 3008, CN 3023, CN 3115, over the curve and across Stoddard Street. Train is 6 locos and 44 cars. Full 1:10 train video.

I knew I should have gotten out earlier today for some socially-distanced railfanning!!

I saw all of these units listed in the same consist on Heritage Units early this evening, and I kicked myself for not heading out sooner toward the former GTW. Now I see this and I'm kicking myself again. Arghhh!

Some days you just can't win. I say...as I wait trackside in Battle Creek for a couple of freights showing on ATCS and (maybe) Amtrak before heading home late. I just couldn't stand one more day in the house after a nearly solid week of rain.

Thank you. Did not know that.

I never did well capturing the NS Heritage units, but then I never really made it a focused or coordinated effort. And I probably won't with these CN Heritage units either. But they're sure going to be interesting and fun to catch now and then. And the former GTW in my home territory is probably going to see a fair share of them. being the sort of funnel from the larger system in Canada that it is. Looking forward to it, especially (hopefully) on the other side of the pandemic, and more freedom to railfan more easily. And the time in retirement to do it. Definitely something to look forward to.
