Got a late start and missed the 22K. Went north and caught 23K on the final assault of Richmondville Hill. Late Fall colors still give a nice setting, at least when the sun is out.
Again this week more camera difficulties and failures but managed to salvage most of the shots.

1. 23K is caught at West Richmondville in Fall splendor grinding up Richmondville Hill. Power is NS 4021, 9254 and 4376. What nicer way to spend a Saturday morning ?

2. The going away shot at West Richmondville.

3. Down at Brooker Hollow they have passed a MOW tamper and regulator on the siding.

Continuing to follow 23K south .........

4. Schenevus Lake, light went flat.

5. Some geese enjoy the lake oblivious to the passing train.

6. Coming through Emmons

7. Approaching Otego as seen from the back River Road

8. And turning to the right looking over the cornfield as they head for the Susquehanna River Bridge.

9. Now having crossed the Susquehanna twice since the last shot they wind through Wells Bridge in one last view as they head for Binghamton.

Chasing up the 16R

10. Changing cameras once again ..... and later in the afternoon, the 23K has gone down to Binghamton and the dispatcher has let 16R out. Here he is after cresting Belden Hill and leaving the tunnel behind passing over Allen Road at the former site of Belden depot. Power on 16R is NS 9870 and 4065.

11. A different perspective on the Harpursville High Bridge, shot from the west side.

14. One last look as the afternoon light fades into evening gloom passing along the flats appoaching Otego.

In that shot at EMMONS, in the background is a VERY tall signal mast, with what appear to be searchlight signals.  Why such a tall mast at this location??
