Car 40 Where Are You?
Author: ut-1

Many here no doubt recall the old TV show, "Car 54 Where Are You?" That show came to mind on Nov 3rd when I videoed a New York, Susquehanna & Western freight on Utica NY's Schuyler Street. Bringing up the rear: Utica Police Department Car 40. Most likely, it was just a happenstance, pretty unlikely a car was dispatched to "See the man about a train in road."

Anyhow, here's the video.

Said it before, and I'll say it again: That little shortline and your videos really interest me for some reason. Keep them coming as I really do enjoy them.

This brought a smile to my face and a good laugh. I'm dating myself by admitting this, but I remember that show well

Nice little train.  The officer was probably making sure the train didn't exceed its 10mph speed limit.  (He probably could have followed it on just the engine idle!)  And none of its cargo ended up on the street.
Yes, I remember the show although we never watched at my house.  But I heard the jokes!  Thanks for posting.

Nice video.  Reminds me of the thread elsewhere here on TO regarding the time UP3985 was parked on a residental street in Maryville in winter.

Run out of town on a rail?

BTW: Engine 3040 in front, car 40 in rear. Nice symmetry.
