Veterans Day trains on the CVSR
Author: EL833

With the regular daylight trains not running during the times the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR runs their Polar trains (they run at night) I made it a point to catch the two trains the CVSR operated on 11-11-2020. Complimentary rides were offered to Veterans and their family's on trains originating both at Rockside Rd (Cleveland) and Akron, Ohio. The CVSR had recently leased a former CSX road slug set from Horizon Rail, and seeing that this is the first slug set to operate on the CVSR I ventured out to see it.
CVSR 6777 at Peninsula, Ohio with a crowd of flag wavers for the veterans on board.
HZRX 6421 on the south end of the Akron train along Riverview Rd, Akron.
CVSR 365 on the north end of the Rockside train at Boston Mill. That's I-271 above.

It used to.
Used to load up in an area where an old steamer was parked
in the Cleveland Zoo.

This was about a half-century ago when 4070 was running.

Be Well,
