The NS bridge destroyed in a coal train derailment October 30 on the Whitethorne District just west of Salem, Virginia, has been replaced and the track could be open as soon as today.  The last two of three open deck spans were placed in position on two new bridge piers yesterday and ballasting and surfacing work was going on today, a friend reports. That was 20 days for clean up and replacement, including a couple of days when work stopped because of high water.  All NS traffic west of Roanoke has been using the Christiansburg District.

Great news. Anyone have photos of the new bridge?

A friend reported that the first movement was indeed last night, the V32, which may be the Trash Train.

You can buy prefabbed bridge panels that will drop right onto your piers or if you can wait awhile you can get them prefabbed for anything of new design at your site....
Acrow is one such company who can do these panels either for temporary or permanent bridging according to your wishes and design.
