Trackage at the SAL/C&O station in Richmond, VA
Author: OCtrainguy

I was recently going through some photos from a trip to Richmond, VA in early August of 2019.  After catching a CSX grain train at the station, I poked around the parking lot a bit as I saw some old tracks still in the pavement.  Here are some views of the tracks and what appears to be an old freight warehouse.  One can imagine the activity that would have occurred here.  Just don't know which railroad these tracks would've belonged to.

Just a guess, the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad?

Likely either C&O or Seaboard.

I wouldn't bet money on it but I'm pretty sure it's the Seaboard freight station down around Brown Street.  The building has the same architectural  style as the one in Henderson, NC.  Thanks for the look.

Trains magazine had a detailed article about the Richmond warehouse district maybe 30 years ago. Should be on their disc.

Don't forget that Southern Rwy had a presence in Richmond too, especially at the three bridges crossing.
