Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh with Norfolk Southern
Author: RuleG

This morning, while walking home after completing an errand, routed my path to photograph any trains on Norfolk Southern's Pittsburgh Line.  Not only did NS oblige, but the engineer sounded the horn after I waved (which doesn't often happen).

1) A pair of General Electric locomotives lead a manifest freight just before passing under the Negley Avenue Bridge in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood.

2) A DPU locomotive.  This view is taken from the Negley Avenue Bridge through a fence with a tight mesh.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Would that be the Market House condominiums in the background in photo #1 ? Reminds me of my stay in Shadyside hospital this past February. My room had a partial view of the Pittsburgh line.

The condominiums shown in the background of photo #1 are the Lofts.

Photo #2 shows in its background the Market District District condominiums built into the side and above the Giant Eagle supermarket.
