Killing time at Antietam (Station), MD.
Author: bigsavage

Civil War buffs can find plenty to do at Antietam, but the site of the x-N&W station just south of Sharpsburg, MD. is also a good location for railfans.
I had several hours to spend yesterday before attending a family get-together in nearby West Virginia, only 2 trains in 3 hours, but it was too nice a day to just watch inane NFL pre-game shows.

NS777, northbound empty coal cars, came by at about 11: 30 a.m. 2 DPUs on rear, this train would not show up at Horseshoe Curve for almost 12 hours.

NS 13R was next, an 8-car cut of Reading & Northern anthracite was a nice thing to see.
13R had a single DPU on the rear.
