Actually that is a Gardner Denver 6 cylinder air compressor, which may not have come from an "EMD Geep".

GTW had these in their SW1200's.

Lots and LOTS of railroads paid extra to "up-grade" from the basic 3-cylinder Gardner Denver air compressor, to the BIG 6-cylinder model, for extra air volume.

Our SW-8 #801 that was involved in a fire last fall was ordered with the 6-cylinder compressor by Great Northern for use in the Seattle coach yard.
