Eastern Railroad Discussion > DREI in the FogDate: 03/07/21 14:11 DREI in the Fog Author: mtzctrain Having just gotten a camcorder, I tested it's capabilites on February 27th as the Decatur & Eastern Illinois road train departed Decatur. Coming out of Long Creek, the line has a good grade in either direction, so I thought I would try out the zoom. You can see the train rocking a bit as they cross over the creek at the beginning of the video.
With heavy fog in the morning, I was lucky that the majority of it burned off by the time the train arrived, but enough fog remained to provide a nice video effect. I also love the horn they've got on the 4244 unit! Train has two SD-40s in SD-45 carbodies leading 32 cars east. Enjoy! - Caleb You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! a small town not far from Decatur. I remember we took a hike along this line way back in the 80s, just for the heck of it. No train came by. |
