Hunters aren't the only scary things by the field.

The NS H-line passes through many hunting areas.  Here at Shenandoah Junction, WV, a pheasant escaped the hunters and was walking down the ballast.  Bad choice.  Just feet from NS 4137 the pheasant took flight (it can be seen by the rail on the side of the ROW).

Hope he didn't step on the rail. Fly OVER the rail, basic safety training for a bird.
