Amtrak & NS . . .
Author: SCKP187

Mostly I post on the Western Board-- a couple from the eastern side of the river from a trip last week.

1.     Amtrak 4613 Trn 392 I believe arriving Effingham IL late evening Oct 7 2021.  I was imprssed with the station stop--a quick passenger on and they were on the move again withn 2 minutes.

2.     While at the Elkhart IN depot early foggy morning about 830a Oct 13 2021 NS 9816-7551-9951-8074-8026-7563 blasting bye.  Not sure what this train was because Im not familiar with NS symbol system, but the train was containers with Fedex trainlers on the rear.  After looking at the shot I noticed several generations of railroading in this frame with the Amtrak station sign, NYC E unit, steam, Conrail caboose from the museum in the background.

Thanks for looking
Brian Stevens

Your top shot looks more like City of New Orleans? Nice pair.

The Carbondale trains are also using superliners. It threw me off the first couple of times I saw them leaving Chicago.

The City of New Orleans doesn't have a Charger pulling it. Yet.

Once they do those log trucks will give that windshield a workout.
