Diesel looking all steamy
Author: joeygooganelli

Did CSX start converting their old GP40-3’s to steam!? No. Y194 is switching out Westway Feeds in a late afternoon snow flurry. Westway Feeds uses steam to get the tank car commodity of molasses warm enough to flow and unload. The scene certainly is blustery!

Excellent catch!

It almost looks like a watercolor painting.

If a locomotive sits idling awhile there will be no water in the radiators. Rain or snow or ice will collect and then when the engine goes to work and get warm the radiators fill with hot water and all the stuff on outside flashes to steam…quite a show for a seconds!
