Cold, dark, frigid and blustery along Lake Erie today as Train 20E passed over the Vermilion River bridge with the New York Central heritage unit "on home rails".
Power consist was NS 7565, 1066, 1076 and 9668.

Brrr looks about right! I guess that cold snap is headed east for tomorrow. Here in Berks county PA it was warmer at 6:30am today by 5 degrees than it will be tomorrow!

The heritage units have been quite sparse down here on the Dayton District lately. Appreciate knowing they're still out there.

It seems to me they’ve been running a lot of them on north-south trains but only those that originate/terminate at Harrisburg, PA.

It’s very rare for one to get east of Harrisburg, and when it does it is usually overnight (as is probably the case with 20E early this morning). When you look at HU though there are almost daily spots at Greencastle PA of a heritage unit.

Oh well!
