CSXT Jacksonville, FL and Waycross, GA Crew Questions
Author: PRR_4859

Good Afternoon:

Does CSXT still run a Manchester, GA to Jacksonville, Fl pool and a Florence, SC to Jacksonville, FL pool? I think the one from Florence was the longest run for a single crew on CSXT. I saw the OCS train on the Folkston railcam and started wondering where the crew on the train originated.

Also, does a single crew take trains from Waycross, GA to Tampa, FL?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, I025/26 are long pools from Manchester to Jax.  I032/32 and I037/38 are Jax to Florence.

Q441/442 are Tampa to Waycross Pool (if they make it).  Frequently they are late leaving Waycross and will recrew in Baldwin.  Some of the ethanol and phosphate jobs can use the the long pool as well.

OCS crew runs from Florence to Jax since they run the same speed as Amtrak.  However, OCS will normally run via the Callahn Sub coming north due to the way they depart the Ops Center tracks.

csx ocs equipment does not run at the highest passenger speeds. By special instructions they are not considered passenger trains....the most they can do is 60 or 70. If you would look underneath all the spit and polish, you would find well worn exasperated iron.

Well, sorry to disagree with you.  Perhaps they only go 70 in your area.  I have personally videotaped them going through defect detectors faster than that.  Just this morning P001-09 went through the Dahoma DD on the Callahan Sub and it broadcasted a speed of 75 MPH.
