What to do in Orlando
Author: grande_fan

I'll be in Orlando for the week of the 25th for work. Looking for some ideas of what to do while not working. I will not have a car.

TIA

if you are close, you might check this commuter operation out:

Check out the construction of the new Brightline?
Oh! You said no car? Never mind. Go to Disney World.

Isn't Disney close to reopening a narrow gauge line from one of their outlying areas?

It was closed when I was there but that was at the end of May. BTW it is humid as hell down there.

Usually the first suggestion for railfanning Orlando is to leave Orlando….but with no car that makes things difficult.
Catch a ride down to a Sunrail station and take a ride. Might see something from the train.

Disney is no longer wanted by a wide swath of people...

Just as an FYI, due to the construction of the Tron roller coaster at the Magic Kingdom, the train there is not currently operating.  There is a train ride at the Animal Kingdom, and of course the monorails.

This is true, but the opening of the Guardians of the Galaxy features has created some crowding at the theme park. Although Disney has imposed its own capacity limits due to Covid, many people choose to go there. Others choose to stay away.

Local TV had a piece on the crowds, and best days to go, etc a few days ago.
