I'm extremely impressed that this abomination is still extant. I have only ever seen one other photo of it. I figured this "caboose" was reduced to scrap steel decades ago. The history of this "thing" must be so very convoluted!

That is the craziest thing to preserve! I wonder if any others of the CN long enclosed auto racks have survived? I think some of the short ones might exist in m of w service up north. Pretty sure A-T bought all the long ones.

Never saw this in service, only saw a normal wide-vision caboose on the train.

if anything is worth preserving it's this! If there are unicorns this is the prototype!

I believe there was a picture of a trainman riding in the cupola on a southbound Auto Train many years ago in some magazine.
