Pennsylvania heritage unit is down one number board.

1.  Leading NS train 14Q east though Columbus, OH at Valley Crossing.

2. A short NS-217 passed by earlier going west.

217 was a very long train.  At 35 mph the train goes 51 feet per second.  That means there were 230 cars or more in this train...........

So, just how does a locomotive lose its number board? Does it just rattle loose and fall inside? Or ripped off from outside?
SWhatever it seems weird to me. But I'm Gonut!

They are often stolen, and the practice seems to have become as bad as (if not worse than) the horn thefts that have plagued railroads.

164 cars on the train in the first video - a few less if you count the articulated auto racks as one (there were about 7 or 8 on the train)

In this case I wouldn't be surprised if this number board got whacked and broken by low hanging branches which have been wrecking havoc on locomotives this year at least in the Mid Atlantic and probably elsewhere.

I love that Diamond, not your typical banging for every axle...... This is a new style I assume?
