Eastern Railroad Discussion > A couple from last Friday in the Reading/Allentown PA corridorDate: 08/03/22 14:39 A couple from last Friday in the Reading/Allentown PA corridor Author: 99stang #1 Between the showers and oppressive humidity I decided to wander up to Alburtis last Friday. I thought this shot of an eastbound autorack train led by a ubitquitous Dash-9 moving through the crossovers would be interesting.
#2 Went over to Fleetwood to hopefully get the westbound shot with the factory sign as backdrop; instead I set up to catch a eastbound as the drizzle started to be a bit more intense. Seemed like traffic was slow- no indication of excessive MOW work anywhere.... Enjoy! The autorack you caught I think was an M8N (extra 18N), and the shot at Alburtis is neat! Not sure what your second train was. Also strange that Thursday`s 39G left Reading Friday morning as 39G and when it made it to Altoona in the afternoon it was W9G. Same with 20R which it was when it departed Altoona Thursday night and then turned into I0R before it reached Allentown. twl |
