SOO 1003 Steam visits Metra
Author: JETRR

Soo Line 1003 visited Metra's operation, specifically the Metra Western Ave. Shop, for the employee open house scheduled for 8/6/22.

Interesting.    Was that steam loco actually there?   It looks CGI and some other parts of the image look highly doctored as well.

Are you really serious? Did you not see the other posts about the Soo Line 1003's inbound trip for this event? Are they all fictional "CGI" and "highly doctored" as well? And your post also questions the integrity of a fine photographer who fairly regularly posts some of the best images on this site. None of which anyone, to the best of my knowledge, has ever criticized as being "doctored" or using CGI. Quite to the contrary, they have been roundly praised, and justifiably so.

I have no skin in this. But I despise conspiracy-mongering, either on  this site, or in its rampant march through our society's politics and social discourse. And I don't care if you were "just kidding". It was an insulting post, whether serious, or kidding.

Take your trolling and conspiracy theory mongering elsewhere. And you owe JETRR, and all of the rest of us, an apology.

Sincere congratulations, JETRR, on winning IOTD for a fine image at what must have been a neat event for Metra employees and their families. Both engines are real beauties. Thanks for posting it for us to enjoy.

MC

Yes the 1003 was there, I was there, you were not there, and the photo is real, not shopped.

Yes, great composition and photograph.  Thank you.  Funny though that at first I thought the steam engine was a painting.  Best to ATSF Super Cap, you were not alone.
