More Heritage and Color in Lake Erie Land

Vermilion OH

1. A little color shows up in the crisp Fall light here in Vermilion, OH as Train 66X crosses the Vermilion River bridge with NS 7575 leading bright red CP Rail 8000 and 8509 with crude oil loads east.

2. The bright clean CP red makes a nice contrast to the Fall Ohio sky.

3. Train 269 rolls west with ratty looking NS 9526, 9857 and .....

4. ..... PC heritage NS 1073 (also ratty looking) is the trailing unit westbound towards Landers Yard, Chicago.

5. And next up is Train 258 with the Reading heritage unit leading; NS 1067 with the NS 4275 trailing. This is a Kansas City to Rutherford Yard (Harrisburg) train. Rather fitting that the Reading unit would be headed home as Rutherford was a Reading Railroad yard.

I had the same question! It looks like it could be a nice mobile train watching raft!

It seems to be some sort of self propelled barge / working platform. That's all I know.

Interesting air reservoir change on CP 8000.
