As I suspected it was the Caloosahatchee River trestles at Tice that took the brunt of the storm surge. The Arcadia flooding was probably more of a surprise and appears to have damaged both track and rolling stock. I have to wonder if they ran those units north to keep clear of the storm surge/eye wall winds but then the Peace overflowed. I'm sure CSX, the Seminole Gulf's connection at Arcadia to the national network, also has substantial damage. I truly hope their employees living in the Ft Myers area can recover and rebuild their personal life as well, it's going to be a challenging time.

They do a pretty good business in Fort Myers, but over the years they've gone from running to Arcadia daily to three times a week. They used to make Arcadia and back in one day, but now I think it's one day up and one day back. Hard to find good info on them. |
