Eastern Railroad Discussion > KCS Holiday train going to MeridianDate: 11/28/22 05:00 KCS Holiday train going to Meridian Author: toledopatch Looks like a beautiful day in Mississippi. Anyone on here know if the train is running in daylight from Pearl to Meridian? or did it make that hop overnight.
Tomorrow the weather is looking a wee bit more hazardous for its trip into Mansfield, LA.... Date: 11/28/22 05:03 Re: KCS Holiday train going to Meridian Author: howeld Per a post on social media it was still in Pearl,MS as the sky was starting to lighten. No other information provided.

The local yard engine will take the christmas cars over later today once NS gets done replacing som ties on the terminal track at the depot. I'll be there shortly after lunch to help get the Railroad Museum ready. Date: 11/28/22 15:30 Re: KCS Holiday train going to Meridian Author: toledopatch The yard crew took the Christmas train over about 1100
People who were on the train told me the departure back to Shreveport should be around 8 p.m., and more specifically that Tuesday's move to Mansfield, LA should leave Shreveport at noon -- but also that the Mansfield stop is subject to cancellation if the weather gets rough; in that case the train would continue to Wednesday's stop in DeQuincy. Date: 11/28/22 16:25 Re: KCS Holiday train going to Meridian Author: toledopatch At 6:15p there is still a huge line of people wanting to visit the train stretching out onto the sidewalk.
Posted from iPhone Date: 11/28/22 17:58 Re: KCS Holiday train going to Meridian Author: toledopatch As of 8 pm the train’s reassembly isn’t close to starting. I don’t think I’m staying out for this one
Posted from iPhone Date: 11/29/22 05:52 Re: KCS Holiday train going to Meridian Author: tuxedorailfan They officially departed at 1043PM last night. NS coal train held everything up. The event was over around 8-830PM as they started packing up.

I would have thought they would have left the rest of their train west of town or otherwise out of the way. At sunset, though, I took off in pursuit of the KCS freight that went north on the Artesia Sub and did this at Lauderdale. Any idea what its symbol might have been? ![]() Date: 11/29/22 19:52 Re: KCS Holiday train going to Meridian Author: toledopatch I did shoot the OCS in the yard earlier in the day, though. This was shortly before 2 p.m. with #20, which had been ahead of schedule approaching Meridian but got held for some reason out by the airport, in the depot and a westbound NS->KCS stack train waiting for it to clear.
